The dead rose. Chernarus was one of the last regions to resist the fall. Evacuations were promised. Containment was attempted. A cure was whispered about. Then came the final broadcast: “Burn what you can. Seal what you can’t. Survive if you are able.” And the radios went silent.
The Shattered Core
When civilization collapsed, the failing nuclear infrastructure of Chernarus was pushed beyond its limits in a desperate attempt to hold onto power, literally. One plant in the central valley suffered a catastrophic meltdown.
It did not flatten the land. It poisoned parts of it.
Now the region known as The Shattered Core stands as a scar across the map, twisted metal, ash-filled skies, collapsing power towers, and a mechanical hum that never truly stops. The infected gather there in unnatural numbers.
Few living souls dare enter. Those who do rarely return the same.
The Return to Chernarus
Years passed. The land emptied. Cities rotted. But humanity always returns. Now survivors are coming back. Some seek lost supplies, bunkers, weapons caches, research sites long abandoned. Some come to escape their past. Some come to build something new.
Three weeks ago, a signal began broadcasting across emergency frequencies:
“This land is sovereign.
Those who remain will decide its fate.
Build your claim. Hold your ground.
A new order rises from the ashes.”
No origin. No signature. Just a message. And a challenge.
What Season One Means for Players
Season One marks the beginning of a new power vacuum in Chernarus.
Factions will rise. Territories will be claimed. Alliances will form and fracture. Conflict will carry consequence.
This is not a static world. The events of this season will shape the seasons that follow. The land will remember who built, who betrayed, and who burned it all down.
Every group that arrives brings its own ideology. Every survivor writes their own chapter. But sovereignty is not given. It is taken.
